Cochlear implant is a electronic device which is placed under the skin behind the ear and it has a electrol which has placed inside the cochlea it helps restore the hearing in the hearing aid people. Broadly the indication for the cochlear implant surgery classified into three groups;

• first one are the children with Bilateral hearing loss- they are born with this defines this is also known as congenital hearing loss.
• Second group includes the adults & the children’s who have lost their hearing due to some reason it may be viral infection.
• Third group the most ignored group in our country & that includes the senior citizens who have lost their hearing due to Ageing process and their hearing loss is so significant that they can’t benefited by the hearing aids.
