Airway Surgery

The airway is the passageway for air to travel to the lungs. There are so many names for different parts of the airway, including the windpipe, voice box, trachea, larynx. This issue generally sees in the children’s. Sometimes children are born with difficulty breathing through the windpipe, and other times these conditions developed during childhood or some after other medical procedures.

In many cases, this will require that surgeons rebuild various parts of the airway to make sure that the child can breathe without assistance from a breathing tube or tracheotomy.

Airway Reconstruction can be performed either through open surgical techniques or using endoscopic techniques.
